Single unit development situated in Bexley, London.

The client reached out to us with a proposal to build a home on a significantly restrictive site. Previous services had sought planning permission however failed on numerous attempts. Despite this we believed planning approval was achievable with an effective design strategy. Due to the close proximity of neighbouring buildings and the council’s policy on facing windows being 22m apart, overlooking was a leading concern. With this known we shaped the plan to step back where the distance breached the 22m policy and located the En-suite and bathroom to the rear of the first floor while frosting the glass in both ensuring privacy. Downstairs we used this opportunity to create a beautiful feature in cantilevering the upstairs bay over the kitchen with corner bi-fold doors.
